What to Expect

Our desire is that people would feel welcome. Yet, we understand that it can be intimidating to attend a church for the first time (or for the first time in a while). For many people, the most difficult part is the fear of the unknown. Here’s an idea of what to expect:

Attire?

You will probably see a range of styles, but most people come to Moss Brook dressed as they do for any other day of the week, including shorts in the summer and jeans and sweatshirts in the winter.

Service?

You can expect 20-25 minutes of good music played by our live band, followed by 30 minutes of simple, practical teaching from God’s Word. We do take an offering, as part of our worship and giving thanks to God, but there is never any pressure to give.

Children?

We currently have a nursery for babies & toddlers, and children’s groups for preschool – grade 6. Parents sign their kids into the groups before the service and pick them up after the service.

After the Service?

We would love to have you stay for a while and get to know some of the folks who are part of our family at Moss Brook.

Our Beliefs

We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.

  • The Scriptures

We believe that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are, in their original languages, the verbally inspired words of God. We believe the Scriptures are inerrant (without fault or mistake) and therefore, the complete, sufficient and ultimate authority for the well-being of mankind. (II Timothy 3:15-17 / II Peter 1:20-21)

  • God

We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons- Father, Spirit and Son. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son, is truly God and truly man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary. After living a sinless life, He willingly died on the cross for our sin and rose again to provide salvation and eternal life for all those who trust Him. We believe the Holy Spirit’s ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ, as well as to indwell, guide and instruct the believer. (John 17:3 / Matthew 28:19-20 / John 1:1-4 / John 3:16 / John 16:14 / John 14:26)

  • Man

We believe that man was created by God, in His image, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and condemned apart from salvation through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:1-6 / Romans 3:10-19 / Romans 1:18)

  • Salvation

We believe that Jesus Christ died willingly on the cross and shed His blood that all men might be forgiven their sin and given eternal life. Belief in Christ and His finished work on the cross is mankind’s only hope of salvation. We believe in water baptism as a public declaration of trust in Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the righteous to spend eternity in heaven in the presence of God, and the unbelieving to eternal punishment. (Romans 6:23 / Romans 10:9-10 / I Corinthians 15 / I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

  • The Church

We believe that the true Church is made up of all who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. At the moment a person places their faith in Christ, they become part of this worldwide body. We believe that local churches, such as ours, exist for the glorifying of God. Our mission as a church is to turn lost people into reproducing followers of Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20 / Acts 2:42-46 / Ephesians 4:16).
