You Are Not Alone

Do you ever feel like no one sees you? If you fell off the face of the earth, no one would notice? Have you ever been in a large crowd, and yet felt like you where completely by yourself? More than likely each one of us has been at that place in our lives where we have felt all alone.
As we have been studying through the book of Genesis these past weeks at church we have come to the story of Joseph. WOW, what a hard life. Here is a young man who was favored by his Father, loved by his mother and hated, deeply hated, by his brothers. Then one day he finds himself sold into slavery and completely alone. Then for the next few years of his life he is thrust into a bunch of difficult situations as an outsider, completely alone. At least that is how it seems. But if we look closely at each of the events that happen in his life we see this little phrase keeps popping up, “But God was with Joseph.” At some point in Joseph’s life he made a decision to live for God and to keep God’s commands. He determined in his heart to honor God first and foremost, and God was with Him. He was never really alone. God continued to provide for Joseph and lead him in all of the difficult situations he faced. Because of his trusting God and listening to God, God caused him to succeed “in all he did.”
Did you realize that as Christ-followers, we are never really alone? God has promised to be with us. He has promised to provide all we need, not all that we want, all we need. Be encouraged right now. God is with you, he is for you and wants his best for you. There is a verse that comes to mind whenever I think about God’s promise to be with us. Think on this verse and God’s promise to you. “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” Philippians 1:6 NLT.
