What Happens If I Stop?

Last week I wrote about the struggle we have with being in a hurry and how we miss out in our relationship with God because of our hurry. Most of us would say that we want our relationship with God to be all that it can be, and we would like the space to make that relationship great. But what happens when we stop hurrying in order to work on the things that really matter? I would like to give you a warning and some encouragement.
First the warning. When you slow down and maybe stop you are going to feel like something is wrong. The reason for this is you have allowed part or most of your value as a person to come from your busyness. So when you are not busy your self worth drops. The temptation will be to get busy and fill the void. DON’T. Instead refocus your attention on God and your relationship with Him. Stay quiet. Hold that spot until your mind is still as well. Take the time to learn how to work out of that stillness. This is HARD, but well worth the effort.
Be encouraged; you can do it. God is waiting for you there. He wants to strengthen you and have a relationship with you that you have only dreamed of. He wants to get beyond the surface and exterior that you show everyone, to the real you that He created and knows so well.
Are you courageous enough to go there?
