What Affects Your Story?

What are the events or people in your life right now that have the biggest pull on your life? Is that pull positive or negative? Why have you allowed that influence to have that much control? These are all questions that, when answered, have a large impact on our stories.
If you are a Christ follower then really your story is His story. It is not about you and your decisions at all, it is about how Christ involved you in His story. The events and people in your life should not be controlling your story; Christ’s story being lived out in you should be influencing their story. But in all reality it doesn’t often happen that way. For all of us there are external forces that are impacting our stories. So how do I change that?

Let me make a few suggestions. First, start your day with Christ. I know this sounds like a Sunday school answer, but it is true. Start each day asking for God’s direction and figuring out how you join him in what he is doing that day, and your story will change. Second, take some time to learn the heart of God, then align your heart with his. Not only will your story change but so will the story of those closest to you. You see, it is the influence of Christ in me that has the biggest positive influence on my story.

Phil 2:13 “For it is God who is working in you both to will and to work according to His good purpose.”

So, what or who has had the biggest impact on your story?
