Stay Engaged

“Timothy, my son, I am giving you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies previously made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the good fight,” 1 Timothy 1:18 CSB

Have you ever found yourself disengaged? I don’t mean just a little distracted. I mean completely checked out, at the place where the things you are responsible for are not even showing up in your mind. I believe that this can be a sign of one of two issues. First, you could be heading for burnout. If that is the case then you need to get some help to deal with what lead you to that place. Second, you have allowed your inner monologue (the story you are telling yourself about yourself) and the voice of our culture to drown out the truth of who you are in Christ. The verse that you read at the beginning of this blog is from Paul to Timothy. Paul is reminding Timothy of who he is called to be and to fight to continue in his calling. Let me remind you of who you are called to be as a Christ-follower. You are a son or daughter of the Most High, you are a joint heir of Christ, you have been bought by Christ, redeemed, made a new creation, filled with the Holy Spirit so that the same power that raised Christ lives in you. I urge you to fight to live out who God through Christ calls you to be.
