Self-Assessment

Now, I know that this not a fun topic. Who really wants to spend time on self-assessment?
First of all it requires time. Who has that?
Second, how do I know if I am being too hard or too soft on myself?
Paul in the book of Romans was well aware of this struggle. He said it this way: “Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.” (12:3 NLT) If I can allow God to lead me through the assessment process I will end up with a proper understanding of who I am and what it will take take for me to keep growing and stay on track. Sometimes allowing a trusted brother or sister to speak into the assessment process is also extremely helpful, because they often see a side of us that we miss.

When was your last self assessment?
