Refresh

You know that little circle arrow on the top of a web page, called the refresh button? It’s the button that you push to reset the web page, to keep everything current and up to date. Did you realize that you have a refresh button in your relationship with Christ? Oh, it’s not a little circle arrow button; it’s better than that. The Holy Spirit stands before God and prays for us. Romans 8:26 “ In the same way the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with unspoken groaning.” The Holy Spirit is our personal refresh button. It is the desire of God that we be refreshed, and He knows that we don’t even know how to ask for what we need. But the Spirit knows what we need and how to ask for it, on our behalf. As leaders I think we get caught up thinking we know what we need and how to get it, when we really don’t. As you face a new year, new challenges, new hopes, new fears and the opportunity to do things a bit different, instead of thinking you have it all figured out today, why not let the Spirit be your refresh button? Why not ask Him to direct you in ways that you may not have thought of? Why not ask him to give you a new outlook for the upcoming year? Trust Him. He knows what you need from God right now.
