Point of No Return

Today I was listening to a TED talk on “The 100% percent rule.” As I was listening to the talk the presenter make this statement, “Everyone who becomes successful arrives at a point of no return.” This statement grabbed my attention so much that I stopped the talk to think about what I heard, and I still haven’t finished listening to the talk. “The point of no return” is an imaginary line that once you cross it, it is impossible to go back. It is like purchasing something at a close-out sale, where “All sales are final” is in big letters at every cash register.
I would like to ask you if you have reached “The point of no return” in your relationship with Christ and His church? What I mean by that is have you thought through being a Christ follower far enough that no matter what, there is no going back. We live in a time period when no one wants to commit. People like to leave their options open; “What if something better comes along?” We even do this when buying things now. “I can always just send it back.” This attitude has been slowly seeping into our thoughts as Christ followers. “I’ll follow as long as it fits my lifestyle and the cost isn’t too great.” Becoming a true follower of Jesus means that I cross the point of no return and follow wherever He leads, no second option.
Have you really “crossed the point of no return” with Christ?
If not, what is stopping you?
If you have, don’t stop, don’t look back. Fix your eyes on Christ and go!!!!
