Observe and Do

You can find almost anything you want or need to learn on YouTube. Have you tried it yet? I do it all the time. I’ll be trying to fix something, or I want to build something I have never built before–I look for it on YouTube. Someone has usually posted a video that instructs me on the steps to take. Now here is one of the problems with all this information at our fingertips. We can spend hours learning how to do all kinds of wonderful things and not actually do any of it. We have all the know-how; we can tell you what someone else did, but not engage ourselves.
I think this happens to us often in our spiritual lives. We have blogs, podcasts, books, videos, radio, and TV pumping good information about God at us every day. We have all kinds of know-how; we just don’t get around to living it out. So can I encourage you today, maybe it is time to cut back on the intake of good info and put some of what we know into practice. How about choosing one truth you have learned lately and spending the time you would take learning more to figure out how to apply and live out that truth in your life.
Remember, God asks us to observe and DO, not just observe.
