Leading to Freedom

WHAT IS THE POINT OF LEADING IN THE CHURCH? WHY BOTHER? WHY SHOULD I SPEND THE ENERGY?

If you have been a leader for very long in the church these can easily become the questions that start to rattle around in your head on a regular basis. It is so easy to get caught up in the everyday issues of leadership that we lose focus of the why. So let me take a moment to remind us of the why.

John 8:31-32 “….If you continue in my word, you really are my disciple. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” CSB

The point of leading in the church is to connect people to the truth. The truth is found wrapped up in the person of Jesus Christ. The reason that Jesus Christ came is to bring freedom to mankind. The “WHY” of leading in the church is FREEDOM. We are surrounded by people who are enslaved by sin and looking everywhere for freedom; our mission is to lead them to truth.
