Know

We live in a time when information and knowing things is what everyone seems to find valuable. Most people spend hours each day scrolling on their phone or computer looking for and consuming information and not acting on any of the information they have found. We have this notion that the more we know the better off we are. But in the past few years we have learned that there can be a problem with too much information. We can end up overwhelmed and unable to do much of anything because we become paralyzed by all the decisions the information requires of us.
As I have thought through this onslaught of wanting to know more and having more information I have come to realize that it is not so important to know a lot, it is important to know the information that matters and to act on it. Let me share the piece of information that matters the most for all humanity for all time. Are you ready?
We are all born sinners; the cost of our sin is death; we can not save ourselves from sin and death; we need a savior!! The only one who can save me from my sin is Jesus. This is the most important piece of information we all need to know and act on. Acting on this information is really quite simple. The Apostle John tell us how, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 CSB When we come to the point in our life that we realize we are a sinner in need of forgiveness and we accept Christ’s payment on the cross for our sin, yielding our will to his, we will be saved.
