Just God

Have you ever stopped to think that everything you are, everything you do, is not really about you? It is really not about how you feel or what makes you happy. It is about who God is, how he is showing up in and around your life. If everything in my life is really about God, then shouldn’t God be enough? I know what you are thinking: “He is enough,” and you are right. He IS!!!! But if that is true, then why don’t we live that way? Why is it that we spend so much time and energy trying to find meaning in other people and other activities? Why is it that Christ-followers are willing to spend so much of their time and money on things that have nothing to do who they are in Christ? It’s because deep down we don’t really believe that God is enough or that he has our best interests in mind. I mean, isn’t it true that “God helps those who help themselves”? (By the way, that is not in the Bible.) No, God helps those who put their trust in him!!!

Proverbs 3:5-6
