It’s a Choice!

Stop! Think of all the choices you have made today:

Will I get up when the alarm goes off?

What will I wear?

Do I have time for breakfast?

What will I eat for breakfast?

The list goes on and on and you will make hundreds more throughout the day. Almost everything you do each day involves a choice. Most of the choices we make each day we do so often that we are not even aware we are doing it. But we are.
Leading well is also a choice. We can lead poorly, or we can lead well. We get to make the choice. It is not a one time choice; it is a daily choice. Here are a few factors that effect that choice:

1. How consistent I am being with my personal time with God? When God has my heart, I will choose to lead with Godly character.

2. How well am I maintaining the margins? If my margins get thin I will tend to cheat in my leadership because I start to get hurried. A hurried mind looks for shortcuts.

3. How well am I looking after my health? If I have let off on exercise, eating healthy and proper rest, my mind and my body become sluggish, and I will start making poor choices relationally. It will affect others.

It is when we consistently make right choices in the little areas that we tend to make right choices in the big areas.
Are you choosing to lead well?
