ISH-ing our Abilities (Part 2)

For many of us thinking about our abilities can be confusing. We often wonder, “What are they? What if I don’t really have any? What if the ones I do have are not helpful to anyone? What if I am not really all that good at anything?” Well, let me take some pressure off you. Here is a verse that runs through my head often, “And whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.” If you are worried about not knowing what abilities you have or how to use them for God just start doing everything that you do as if you were doing it for Him. That alone will make a huge change in how we live our lives. Just think, if you did everything, from getting up in the morning till you laid your head on your pillow at night, for God, how would that change your motivation, your responses, your attitude and the energy you put into what you do? I think this is the best way to start. If we start trying to be aware of the effort we are putting into all of our activities and we become concerned about pleasing God in each area, the use of our abilities will fall into place. We will find that we are no longer ISH-ing (In Sorta Halfway) things at all. We will be giving our best in everything we do. The result will be evident to everyone we live life with and even those with whom we just have minimal contact.

So how about starting with doing everything for God?
