Instruction
“Instruction without implementation is useless.”
I love to learn; I really enjoy reading and thinking through things. Sometimes I can get lost for hours and even days thinking about and trying to solve problems. But that isn’t always a good trait. You see, what can happen to us is we can become so wrapped up in learning and adding to our knowledge base that we don’t actually do anything. There is a big difference between learning and doing.
Most of us know two or three things that if we were to actually do them, they would have a huge impact on our lives. Like, spend time with God each day, don’t eat so much junk, get proper rest, live on a budget, exercise a few times a week and spend quality time with loved ones. We have all the data, we know someone who has done it before us, we can even point to someone who is successful because they have put those truths into practice. But, we just can’t seem to do it ourselves.
May I challenge you, before you learn anything new today, do one of those small things that you already know will work. Just one. Do it for a week and see what happens. I think you will be surprised.
