Faith Trusts

Do you ever find yourself wondering if you can really trust what God has promised ? Now, I know what you are thinking, “Of course I trust; I would never doubt God.” But what about those quiet moments in life when you are having those internal conversations, and things don’t seem right. We all have those moments. We know God has promised to grant us grace (James 4:6), God will cause the devil to flee from us (James 4:7), God will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5) and so much more. But sometimes it just doesn’t seem like that those could be true. I was thinking about the actions of the shepherds in the Christmas story, and they reminded me of how I should act on the promises that God gives me. When the angels appeared to them while they were watching their flocks and told them to go to Bethlehem and they would see the Savior, Luke tells us that “they said, ‘Let’s go straight to Bethlehem…’ and they hurried off…” They trusted what God told them. They did not stop and take a vote or weigh the pro’s and con’s; they just went. I think that this needs to be how we respond to God. When you are reminded of His promise, just act on it, thank him for his word and move into the promise. Don’t try to figure out how it will work or all the reasons it can’t work, just accept the truth and enjoy how God does his work in you.
Trust Him – I think you will be amazed at what happens.
