Create a Habit
We become what we do repeatedly.
What is it that you wish to become? What is it that you hope people remember about you? What type of influence do you hope to have on people? Maybe your answer to these questions is, “I don’t want anyone to even think about me!! I hope they are not watching me at all, just let me be.” Well, I hate to ruin your day, but you are being watched and you do have influence on others. That is just the way it is. As a Christ-follower, that is the expectation that God has for us, to influence others for the glory of God. So, what type of influence are you having on people? If you want to have a positive influence on those around you then you need to create a few habits to lead you in that direction. Habits are practices repeated regularly that become part of who we are. These can be good or bad. The bad ones tend to start without much thought and lead to discouragement and pain. The good ones require effort but lead to purpose and fulfillment. Once we have implemented and regularly practice one good habit it gets easier to add another. They are like building blocks that interlock to create a character that will have a lasting effect on others.
So, what is one good habit that you need to start practicing today? Start small. Be consistent. Build slowly. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. (The tortoise always wins.)
We become what we repeatedly do!
