Are the Unreached Lost?

We need to look at a harsh topic today. What is the fate of anyone who has not accepted Christ’s offer of forgiveness for sin? This applies just as much to you and I and our neighbors across the street as to the unreached on the other side of the world.
Let’s see what scripture has to say.
Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
John 3:18 “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
Romans 3:23 “… For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We will all die physically, and those who have not accepted the free gift of God will also die spiritually, separated from God forever in hell.
So you tell me – are the unreached lost?
And do you know what awaits them? Do you know what hell is like?
In Luke 16 is recorded Jesus’ parable of the rich man and Lazarus, who was a poor beggar. After they both die, verses 23 and 24 say: “And in Hades, being in torment, (the rich man) lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’”
The rich man was in torment. Hell is a place of anguish. It is a place of fire. He said he was suffering horribly in the flame.
Hell is a very unpleasant reality that we must not ignore. Is it ok with us that thousands are going there every day – because they have not even heard of God’s provision of a way out through Jesus His son?
Our time in this world is so very brief when compared to eternity. But the way we spend our lives here will determine the fate of so many.
Please pray with me that God will show each one of us what part He wants us to play in getting the gospel to these folks before it is too late. It is only good news if it gets there in time.
