Amazed
“Lord, I have heard the report about you; Lord, I stand in awe of your deeds. Revive your work in these years; make it known in these years.”
Habakkuk 3:2 CSB
When was the last time you stood in awe or were amazed? What was it that made you stop, reflect, and be amazed? A few years ago Pamela and I took our children to Kentucky to see the life-size replica of Noah’s ark. I remember as we drove into the park, crested the hill, and saw the ark for the first time. WOW. That is exactly what all of us said. WOW. Then as we spent the day wandering through the ark, realizing all that it took for Noah to build it and prepare for the flood, I was truly amazed. Amazed at what God had done through Noah to restore His relationship with mankind, amazed at the work Noah and his sons had done while being made fun of. I had read the report of what God had done. I had heard the story told. But to go and see with my own eyes what it may have been like, brought it to a whole different level of understanding.
I think it is a good idea to pray and ask God to reveal himself to us so we can be amazed by him. It is all too easy for us to go through our daily lives and forget how truly awesome God is.
May I encourage you today to look for and be amazed by the awesome deeds and work of God? If you are looking for them you will be amazed by how many there are.
